GTEC's 20th Anniversary

November 06, 2012

This a really exciting time to be working with government on open source projects.  Yesterday we saw the launch of The Open Source Alliance of Canada (OSACan)  is a Non-Profit established to encourage public sector IT managers, executives and their technology partners to explore, adopt and contribute to open source technologies.

Today we spent the day talking to government IT professionals and were very encouraged by the interest and knowledge about open source in general & Drupal specifically.  It's clear that many of the big players are already looking at Drupal as the CMS to beat which is great news.

I'm especially looking forward to the panel discussion that I'm participating in tomorrow with Laura Wesley, Paul Jackson & Lisa Fast and moderated by Pirth Singh - Putting Canadians First Through Open Collaborative Web Development.  The great news about this is that it will be web cast for those who aren't able to attend GTEC this year.
