Web 2.0 generally refers to a second generation of services available on the World Wide Web that let people collaborate, and share information online. In contrast to the first generation, Web 2.0 gives users an experience closer to desktop applications than the traditional static Web pages.
Out of the box, Drupal provides some simple Web 2.0 features such as blogs, comments and RSS feeds. But with the addition of a couple modules, Drupal can be transformed into a multimedia powerhouse including streaming videos, displaying Twitter feeds, posting to Twitter feeds, Facebook integration and the ability to share content through a variety of sites such as Digg, StumbleUpon, Reddit, Del.icio.us and others.
Another way that Drupal can help organizations interact with their stakeholders is through petitions, campaigns, e-newsletters, and membership portals.
