Drupal and CiviCRM are excellent web tools and both have gotten considerably better in managing multi-lingual data objects over the last year.
In the last two months OpenConcept has headed up the CiviLingua project to allow this campaign oriented Customer Relationship Management database to support more Canadian organizations.
Many federal organizations require all information to be stored and presented in both official languages (English & French). The interface and content of the site can be switched back and forth for each page between English and French with a single click.
Having a strong commitment to open source all of the code developed for this will be contributed back to the community, and developing a generalized solution that will support any number of languages.
OpenConcept has been advocating now for better support for bilingual as well as multi-lingual data objects within the Drupal and CiviCRM communities for nearly two years now and it is exciting be able to work on its implementation. For more information on the project, please see the CiviCRM Wiki.
